It really depends on what you want to do and in what way you want to be involved in science. I don’t think it was really all that hard to get into my role in science. I completed a degree in Environmental Science and then was lucky enough (following unpaid work experience) to get my first position in air quality. You can achieve anything if you really put your mind to it.

It depends on what you want to do. If you are interested in science and work hard you can get a PhD, and get a job at a company. If you want a longer lasting job as a scientist at a university you also need to be very good at explaining your ideas and convincing people that you will do something great.

I think if you have a dream you should go for it though, because you only have one life, and you never know how things will be when you are older.
