      It’s dangerous for the opposite reason your stove is dangerous: It’s so cold that if you touched it, you’d freeze your skin cells. You’d get sort of a “burn”–not really a burn because it’s not hot, but it would destroy skin cells just like a fire also would.

      If you held your hand in liquid nitrogen for a few minutes and then smashed your hand with a hammer, your hand would shatter as though it were made of glass. (So don’t do that.) Actually, you wouldn’t be able to hold your hand in liquid nitrogen that long because it would immediately hurt, and you’d want to pull your hand out after a second or two.
