      I did a bachelors and masters degree at University in Geography and Palaeontology

      I visited the hospital I work in now during my PhD studies. During my visit I met my current boss and found out that he was looking to hire someone. We talked and seemed to understand each other well, and he eventually hired me.

      Being good at your job is very important, but it is equally important that you can get along with other people. People who know they can get along with you are much more likely to hire you.
