There’s pretty much solid scientific evidence for it now as we have found lots of bones of species in between humans and apes to show that we evolved from them. We have early humans with curved fingers which show they would have climbed trees, with ape like head shapes and sizes and similar shaped rib cages!
Honestly, I never correctly understood evolution until I studied it in college. I had to write a computer program to simulate evolution in response to environmental pressures, and only by really getting into the tiny details of it could I understand it. It’s not as simple as “giraffe neck = longer; giraffe eats more leaves; giraffe has more babies.” But once you understand how it works, suddenly you realize that nothing in biology makes sense outside the context of evolution and natural selection. I think that understanding evolution makes biology so much more beautiful and fascinating.
