      Finger prints can be detected by dark powders, lasers or special photographs. They are usually made by the sweat and oil on your fingers being left behind on something.

      i am not entirely sure but i think they put dust on a surface and the fingerprint can be seen because the powder sticks to the oil in the fingerprint
